Shirin Bharucha is a lawyer who worked with the Tata Group for several years. She is i0nvolved with a number of trusts that work for the city’s urban renewal, and was part of the team that restored the Oval Maidan, the Horniman Circle Garden and the Kala Ghoda Art District (www.kalaghodassociation.org).
Charles Correa
Charles CorreaTrustee
Charles Correa studied architecture at the University of Michigan and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In private practice in Bombay since 1958, his work covers a wide range, from the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial at the Sabarmati Ashram, the Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur, and the State Assembly for Madhya Pradesh, to housing projects and townships in Delhi, Bombay, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and other cities in India. From 1970-75, he was Chief Architect for ‘New Bombay’ an urban growth centre of 2 million people. In 1985, The Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi appointed him Chairman of the National Commission on Urbanism.
Nana Chudasama

Nana Chudasama is World Chairman of the India-based social service organization, Giants International. As Sheriff of Mumbai in 1989, he started the “I Love Mumbai” campaign, of which he currently serves as president. He is also president of the Center for the Prevention of Drug Abuse and AIDS, and chairman of the National Kidney Foundation and Common Man’s Forum. Mr. Chudasama was conferred the title Padma Shree by the President of India in 2005, for the contribution towards the welfare of society as a committed social worker.
Cyrus Guzder

Cyrus Guzder is an urban activist playing an active role in the conservation of heritage buildings and precincts of Mumbai, as well as numerous environmental issues. He is trustee of the Bombay Environmental Action Group (BEAG) and Governor of the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Heritage Society. He also serves as a trustee at the ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharajVastu (formerly known as the Prince of Wales Museum of Western India).
Rahul Mehrotra

Rahul Mehrotra studied architecture at the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology in Ahmedabad and then obtained a Master of Architecture in Urban Design degree with distinction from Harvard University in 1987. In private practice in Mumbai since 1990, his work ranges from planning, urban design, and conservation to architecture and interiors. Among other books written by him, he has also co-authored a book titled Conserving an Image Centre – The Fort Precinct in Bombay, based on which the State Government declared the Fort area a Conservation Precinct in 1995. Mehrotra has taught at the National University of Singapore (1998), the University of Michigan (2000-2007), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2007-2010), and currently teaches at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
Nasser Munjee

Nasser Munjee holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics. He is Chairman of the Development Credit Bank, prior to which he was the Managing Director and CEO of Infrastructure Development Finance Company Limited. He serves on the boards and advisory panels of several Indian and international organizations. Mr. Munjee has a deep interest in rural development, housing finance, and urban issues, especially the development of modern cities and humanitarian causes.
Anuj Bhagwati

Anuj Bhagwati has a Bachelor of Science degree (Engineering Physics) with distinction (1991) and Master of Science (Applied Physics) (1994) – both from Cornell University. He is Director at A.T.E. Group, a Bombay based engineering group (www.ateindia.com). Under his leadership, the group has diversified into machine-to-machine solutions and clean technology, reflecting MrBhagwati’s personal commitment to the environment. Apart from being a member of various industrial bodies and associations, MrBhagwati is also deeply involved with non-profit bodies such as the Urban Design Research Institute (Trustee), the Kala Ghoda Association (Committee member), PrajaFoundation,and K J Somaiya Trust.
